1973 Ford Mustang
1973 brought around balmy restyling. The urethane breast bumper became touchstone, and was hypertrophied in conformity with new NHTSA standards. All Mustang models had their sportlamps re-purposed as number signals, as the new bumper covered portion of the battlefront cornice (and so the old blinker localization). These new lamps – different their 1971/72 counterparts – were now orientated vertically. Both a Mach 1 and fundament lattice were offered, with differing cut-in patterns.
Mach 1 decals were besides revised in 1972 for 1973 models, and the old hockey reefer incline chevron of 1971-1972 models became an selection on hardtops and convertibles with the add-on of the ‘Outside Decor Radical’. Magnum 500 wheels, antecedently optional, were superseded by bad aluminium 5-hole wheels.
The 1973 manakin class Mustang was the net adaptation of the archetype trot car, as the simulation epithet migrated to the saving, Crossing Pinto-based Mustang II the future twelvemonth.
